Topping Is Bad
Topping is an antiquated pruning technique in which a tree’s limbs are cut off to an arbitrary length, leaving a cactus-like remnant of a tree. It is one of the most harmful practices that can be done to a tree’s crown, because it will lead to decay, weak branch structure and premature death, not to mention an ugly tree. Topping cannot be undone, but if you have a tree that has been topped, we can help. Our Crown Restoration and soil improvement will help minimize your tree’s chances of becoming a hazard. The trees pictured below have been topped. Notice the damage that has been unnecessarily caused. If you have any questions, please call us today.
